Cookies

This is a plain-language draft describing exactly what the service writes to your browser today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer; the reviewed version will replace it here before general launch.
Meor sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics. What it stores is what is needed to keep you signed in, and to stop a form losing your work. This page lists every item, so the claim can be checked rather than believed.
1. Why there is no consent banner
Consent banners exist because most sites let advertising and analytics companies watch their visitors. Meor does not. It has no advertising business, no analytics product, no tag manager and no third-party trackers, so there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
Meor does count how many people open a listing, so the seller knows whether theirs is being seen. That count needs nothing in your browser at all: no cookie, no stored identifier, nothing that survives the page. It is described in full in the privacy notice, and it is the reason this page can still say there is nothing here to consent to.
Under California and United States law, a site must say what it stores and why, which is what this page does. A site that sold personal information or ran cross-context advertising would also have to offer an opt-out; Meor does neither. If a tracker is ever added, this page changes first, and consent is asked for before it is set.
2. Cookies
Sign-in. When you sign in, Supabase sets a cookie holding your session, so that the next page knows who you are. It is necessary for the service to work at all. It is removed when you sign out, and expires on its own.
Bot protection. If the Cloudflare Turnstile check is switched on, Cloudflare sets a short-lived cookie recording that a browser passed it. It is a security measure, it carries no identity, and it sets nothing that follows you elsewhere. It is switched off at the time of writing.
There are no other cookies. Meor sets no cookie for advertising, measurement or profiling.
3. What is kept in your browser's own storage
These never leave your browser. They are not sent to Meor's servers, they are readable only by meor.com, and clearing your browser data removes them. They exist so that a half-finished form survives a refresh, and so that a screen you return to looks the way you left it.
meor.signup and meor.signin — what you have typed so far in the sign-up or sign-in flow, so that a reload, or a step backwards, does not empty the form.
meor.listing — the listing you are part-way through creating.
meor.thesis and meor.thesisPromptDismissed — the buying thesis you set, and whether you have dismissed the prompt asking you to set one.
meor.mode — whether you are looking at the dashboard as a buyer or as a seller.
meor.lastUser — the account last signed in on this browser, so that signing in as someone else clears the previous person's half-finished forms rather than showing them to you.
meor.escrow.lastRequest, meor.escrow.disputeReason and meor.escrow.sim — working state on the deal screens: the last action sent, a dispute reason you were part-way through typing, and the sandbox rehearsal switch.
4. How to clear it
Signing out removes the session cookie. Clearing site data for meor.com in your browser's settings removes everything on this page, including anything you were part-way through typing. Blocking cookies for meor.com will stop you being able to sign in, because the sign-in cookie is how the service knows you.
